The Project was pursued by PASB Technology Sdn Bhd in a form of consortium to provide electricity by way of the Solar Power Hybrid System on fast track basis to 12 priority schools in Kalabakan district (Sabah) during the 1^st quarter of 2007. 

The Solar Hybrid System generates electricity primarily through solar, combined with backup system i.e. diesel genset.  The Solar Hybrid System is considered an appropriate system in remote areas as it is designed to generate electricity which is essential for modern teaching aids i.e. computers, television (Astro) etc. More specifically, the electricity generated by the system is stable and sustainable which will reduce the maintenance cost of the teaching aids in the long run. Conventional method i.e. sole dependency on diesel genset is considered as not environmentally friendly and an inefficient solution for the rural schools. 

 In a nutshell, this Project is used as a measure to provide rural schools in Sabah (more specifically those not connected to the conventional power grid) an optimum solution for its electricity needs.
