(Borneo Post, 15/05/2009)
KUCHING:
Healthy food lovers around the city can now get the supply of
fresh organically grown barramundi and jade perch fish at the
Boulevard Hypermarket cold storage that has been newly set up in
the fish section.
At this section, customers can view the fish which are on
display in the aquarium.
Once chosen, the fish will be chilled immediately in a four degrees Celsius ice before it is being packed.
This protocol is an important part to ensure and maintain
the delicate taste and freshness of the fish.
Besides the quality and freshness, the organically reared
fish also offer ‘clean’ factor to customers who are wary of
contaminant in common sea products.
The barramundi and jade perch which are organically grown with patented indoor Australian farming technology are said to be free from harmful mercury, antibiotics and other contaminants, thus making the product very appealing to the health-conscious adult, young children and pregnant women.
The jade perch species, in addition, is popular due to
its high Omega-3 content, (as revealed by the Australia’s
Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation in
its study on the beneficial oils found in Australian fish) which
is known to be good for the heart and brain.
As recommended by doctors, the consumption of 400 mg of
Omega-3 at least twice a week can reduce the risk of
cardiovascular disease.
The fish which are supplied by Assar Aquaquest Sdn Bhd,
are available in standard 500g size.
The joint promotion will end in July.
