Public Advisory: Beware of Suspected Scam Advertisement Misusing ASSAR’s Name

Amanah Saham Sarawak Berhad (ASSB) wishes to alert the public regarding a suspected scam advertisement circulated on Facebook and through WhatsApp groups, including groups using the name “ASSAR Community”.

The advertisement is believed to have introduced an individual as a “Senior Unit Trust Consultant” allegedly representing ASSAR. We wish to clarify that ASSB has never appointed any individual agent or third-party representative to promote ASSAR, or to collect payments, personal information, or investment-related details from the public through unofficial channels.

The website link featured in the advertisement, namely https://www.assarunittrust.com/, is not ASSAR’s official website. We would like to remind members of the public that ASSAR’s official website is https://www.assar.com.my.

We advise members of the public to exercise caution, avoid clicking suspicious links, and refrain from making any payment, registration, or disclosure of personal information through unofficial channels. We also urge the public to verify any promotion, appointment, investment campaign, or unit trust-related communication directly with ASSAR through our official communication channels.

We also wish to remind the public that, in line with industry-wide practice, it is ASSB’s policy to prohibit the acceptance of cash payments for ASSAR transactions.

If you receive any suspicious advertisement or communication claiming to represent ASSAR, please verify the individual’s FIMM licence status at www.fimm.com.my. You may also contact us immediately at assar@assar.com.my, 082-231433, or 019-3461433 (Operations Dept), or report the matter to the relevant authorities.
